The Evening Ritual
Recently I have been really loving my me-time. I think that once starting a full-time job your evenings suddenly become sacred, a time that you really want to make the most of - whether that be socialising and seeing friends, or just using it for some good old TLC. On the nights that I spend in I really try and focus on truly relaxing and winding down, taking some time to do a bit of self-improvement and ready for a new day. Rather than just using a night-in as an opportunity to veg out on the couch, binge-watching whatever I can on Netflix until the early hours of the morning, I've been spending my time a little more wisely.
One thing that is absolutely essential to a relaxing night routine for me is taking a bath. After living in my apartment in France without a bath for a year I have really been enjoying taking regular baths. I love to put on a face mask, letting the steam from the bath really open my pores and let the product do its job and settle down with a book.
A new years resolution of mine is to read a lot more books. I have always been a pretty big bookworm but in recent months I really have just not been reading as much as I would like and I have missed it a lot. So this year the goal is to read at least 2 books a month, mixing it up between fiction and non-fiction. So look out for some book recommendations in all of my upcoming monthly favourites.
Whenever I have the time I really like to commit to a full skincare routine. On most nights I tend to just remove my makeup with micellar water and then stick on some moisturiser, which is better than nothing but still isn't ideal. In between the normal steps I have been using the Origins Original Skin Essence as well as La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo to help keep my skin healthy and blemish-free following up with the Origins Ginzing Eye Cream.
