I'm about as anti-lipgloss as it comes, up until the other month I hadn't had a lipgloss in my beauty drawers for years. They just aren't something that I'd ever wear, being someone who is so into their matte lipsticks, lip gloss and I just aren't a match made in heaven. Whenever I think of lipglosses I just get horrible childhood flashbacks to the squeezy tubes of glittery lip gloss I used to smear all over my lips - I'll tell you now, it wasn't a good look. That being said I had heard so many positive reviews about the NYX Butter Glosses and like the basic beauty blogger that I am I quickly bought into the hype when NYX started hitting Boots stores across the UK.

I decided to go for the Intense Butter Gloss in Tres Leches. And by the way please ignore the messed up packaging, I went in to get this colour in particular and this was the only tube left so I ignored the obvious smear and got it anyway - desperation. There also isn't a NYX stand in any Boots near me so I had to drive 30 minutes away to find the nearest stand so there was no way I was going to leave without it, but I digress. This lipgloss is extremely pigmented, comfortable and not sticky on the lips. Think of it like your normal liquid lipstick but without being matte or drying in any way. One swipe of the gloss over your lips is all you really need for an opaque payoff but you can go over and build it up in any areas where you think you need it. And I have to say, I think I could be a lipgloss person now, well a butter gloss kind of person. Gone are the visions of horrible sticky child lipgloss and enter pigmented, smooth great-ness. The only down-side to this product are just general things about lipglosses - it doesn't last a long time on the lips and you do need to be careful of smearing it as it's not matte. But as someone who always finds themselves frantically trying to wipe off the dry remains of liquid lipstick these negatives are more like positives to me.

The colour Tres Leches is a beautiful nude pink that compliments so many looks but I love pairing it with my usual everyday natural makeup. It has enough brown tones that it ties in with my eyes but enough pink in it to add a little pop of colour. In short, this is very much a 'me' colour and it definitely fits into my already overflowing lip product collection. I find myself carrying this in my bag a lot as it's so easy to reapply on the go and requires minimal effort to apply without worrying about messing up and the product not budging.

Have you tried the NYX Butter Glosses? What are your thoughts on them?
