THE LAZY MORNING SKINCARE ROUTINE

September 25, 2016
morning skincare routine

I can hold my hand up and say that I'm not the best when it comes to sticking to a solid skincare routine, I try my best to do the whole cleanse/tone/moisturise pretty much every day and night but even that can be a struggle sometimes. Although I'm not the best at completing a full skincare routine every day I do always make sure to fit in a small routine of products in the morning, these are the 4 that I find essential for my skin. Obviously missing out some v. important things like serum etc. but we're not all perfect, we don't all have time to take our time with skincare so sometimes a lazy routine has to make do.

Recently my skin hasn't been behaving all that well, I have been suffering from a few breakouts and although I have pretty much calmed everything down I like to be preventative and stop any new breakouts from, well, breaking out again. A product I have always relied on is the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo which is a skincare treatment for people with blemish prone skin. I have noticed such a big difference in the appearance of my skin ever since incorporating it into my routine years ago. It's one of those products that I need to repurchase before I even run out because I know how much my skin loves it. I usually focus it on the areas where I commonly break out which, right now, is my cheeks and chin.

Then my all time favourite moisturising duo of the moment comes in the form of the Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturiser and the La Roche Posay Hydraphase Intense Yeux. They are both light in formula but really work at moisturising and soothing the skin. The eye cream cools and hydrates my puffy morning eyes helping them to feel comfortable throughout the day. The Kiehl's moisturiser is  long-time favourite of mine for good reason. This is also a pretty thin formula, very different to the thick creams I usually go for because of my dry skin. But with this my skin really feels good after use, hydrated and ready for makeup. Because it's so thin it sinks into the skin super fast so your makeup can just glide on over it, a must for early mornings getting ready for work.

Finally something that could be taken out of the routine to make it even easier but a step that I always like to take if I can is using some kind of water spray. Recently I have been loving the Bioderma Hydrabio Eau de Soin SPF 30, a water spray with the added sun protection. I'll spray this on over my makeup to keep everything looking fresh and to protect my skin at the same time. It makes me look fresh and dewy while also being very appreciated by my dry skin.

What skincare products do you use on lazy mornings?
