Trying Out: Beauty

April 02, 2016
I've been trying out a few new beauty bits recently, all budget buys! And I'm giving you a kind of first impressions of all the things that I have got. I'm trying to save up for my trip to Brighton with my boyfriend which is next week so haven't been splurging on anything this past month but that still hasn't stopped me from getting a couple of bits.
I didn't realise until I collected all of these products together that I have got a lot from Maybelline recently. This isn't much of surprise as I have always stuck to the fact that Maybelline is my favourite drugstore brand, I just feel like their products always work for me and don't tend to disappoint. The first thing I actually got ages ago is the Colour Tattoo in Creme de Nude, I adore the colour tattoos so much, this is my third shade and I love it. It looks very similar to the MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre but is so much cheaper. It creates a blank canvas and preps my eyelids for eyeshadow. My sister gave me the Falsies Push Up Mascara as she had two of them and I'm going to straight up say I am not a fan. This separates your lashes but doesn't really do that much lengthening and when applying a second coat it starts to clump up so I haven't been impressed. After the Seventeen eyeliner dried up I decided to stray from my usual pen eyeliners for something that (hopefully) won't dry up as quickly so went for the Master Ink Eyeliner Matte and I have been enjoying it so much, it's a lot easier to use than I expected and looks really great and intense. Finally I picked up the Browdrama Sculpting Mascara which I haven't used that much but I'm not a fan of the brush as it's kind of hard to shape my brows.
Onto the non-Maybelline products. I picked up the Essie Gel Setter Top Coat as I heard good things about it, plus anything that promises to make my nails look like gel nails sparks my interest. And oh god is this thing good, just one coat of this over the top of any nail polish just makes everything look incredibly glossy and gel-like. I am in love. I really feel that, despite not having this for very long, this has become my holy grail top coat.
Finally is another brow product from Freedom, I love their Brow Pomade so thought I would try there Brow Powder Duo which is another Anastasia Beverly Hills dupe and I have the shade Ash Brown. This is great for when I want a more natural looking brow and I find the mixture of the two shades is great for all over the brow and then I use the lighter shade for the very start of my brows.
What products have you been trying out recently?
