The Mask Duo That Solves All My Skin Problems

March 14, 2016

My skin has been a bit all over the place recently, I suffer from dry skin anyway and where it's been so cold and windy here in the South of England my dry skin has been getting a lot worse. Along with that I have been experiencing a few breakouts around my chin and on my cheeks so it's safe to say my skin hasn't been fairing to well.

I rely on face masks a lot to help my skin get back into shape during periods like this when it is freaking out, and these two masks have been helping to keep the blemishes at bay along with keeping my skin nice and moisturised. Having dry skin that breaks out can be quite annoying. as to get rid of the blemishes I find it's best to use a clay based mask that ends up drying out my skin which makes it even more dry so I've been having to use two different masks frequently to sort out both of my skin concerns.

A charcoal mask that I have been loving for my skin is the Origins Clear Improvement which works really well at purifying my skin and keeping the blemishes at bay. I find that using this about once a week has really improved my skin and stopped me from breaking out quite so badly. It also doesn't leave my skin feeling incredibly dry, putting some moisturiser on after taking this off normally keeps my skin feeling happy. To sort out the dryness situation I have going on I have an old favourite, the Avene Soothing Moisture Mask which applies more like a cream to the skin. You leave it on for about 15 minutes then with a cotton pad soaked in thermal water you remove any excess that's still on your skin. As this isn't necessarily a mask you can use it more frequently so I tend to use it every couple of days just to get some moisture back into my skin and it feels so. good. I sometimes even leave this on my face overnight and I wake up with the softest skin ever. Moisture masks are by far my favourite thing to use to keep my dry skin feeling comfortable and soft and are a must-have in my skincare routine.
