Shopping My Stash 0.1

March 18, 2016

I have quite a lot of makeup, of which the majority I do not use. I'm the kind of person that buys new products and forgets about the old ones and leaves them lying around forgotten in my makeup drawers. I really should start rotating my makeup products around a lot more in attempt to get use out of all the products I have acquired over the years, so hopefully this series will inspire me and you to dig out those old products that we forgot we loved.

First off are two blushes that I picked up while I was in New York. I got these on the same trip that I got my beloved Tarte Exposed Blush so unfortunately straight away they were pushed to the side but seeing as they are both cream blushes and we're coming into Spring it's the perfect opportunity to get some use out of them. The Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Hot Tamale has to be, hands down, the coolest consistency of blush I've tried. It's like memory foam in the way you can press your fingers into it and it will bounce right back up. These aren't very pigmented which makes the bright coral shade a bit less daunting but still gives a perfect pop of colour. Then I have the Josie Maran Coconut Watercolour Cheek Gelee in Poppy Paradise. I think the texture of this is what put me off, it's quite slippy and almost oily compared to your average cream blush which can be a bit scary when you first try it but it translates to a glowy, almost red, flush that looks so natural and is the perfect summer-time shade.

Next we have the first MAC product that I ever bought, yep this is a major throwback. The MAC Pigment in Melon is such a beautiful warm peachy gold colour that I really haven't given the attention it deserves. I think this is mainly because the pigments kind of scare me, they are bit more tricky to use than the normal pressed eyeshadow but I really should incorporate this colour back into my every day makeup as it really is gorgeous and will look so perfect in the summer! Finally I have pulled out the Maybelline Cream Eyeliner Pencil which is hands down the creamiest eyeliner I have tried and I don't know why I ever stopped using this. I have never really been a fan of pencil eyeliners, I'm more of  liquid eyeliner kinda' gal but this is just so creamy and easy to apply. I find I like to use it on the top lash line and tight line as if I apply it to lower lash line directly it can fade and move around alot.
