New In: Beauty

March 16, 2016

So in the past week or two I have done a bit of makeup shopping, I was starting to run dry when it came to blog post ideas and felt like this completely justified getting some new things and giving myself some inspiration.

First I ordered something that I actually needed, some new makeup drawers. I used to store my makeup in these old paper storage drawers from WHSmiths which I must have got like 4 years ago and has always housed my makeup so, safe to say, it needed an update. I was looking around to find some makeup storage that wasn't from Muji but gave in and got the 3 Acrylic Drawers. I also got a white tray to put on top of the drawers to keep my everyday makeup in so I use these drawers for everything else. These do fit the majority of my makeup but some things like my squeezy tube foundations and MAC pigments are too big to fit in the drawers. I have no space to spare in these drawers so I will have to order some more soon, I just need something that has deeper drawers.

I went into Boots to get a new eyeliner and obviously didn't walk out with just that. I was browsing around and saw that Seventeen had a 3 for 2 offer on and because I've never tried anything from the brand I thought I would take advantage of the offer. I picked up their Make Your Mark Eyeliner which is pretty similar to my trusty Collection Extreme 24hr Eyeliner. I also got the Define and Conquer Contour Kit which I'm excited about because it's a matte bronzer and highlight which interested me a lot, and I got the Brow's That! Brow Kit as I thought it looked nice and has almost everything you need for great eyebrows. Plus I love the names of all their products so much!

Another part of my makeup collection that needed a re-vamp was my brushes, I mainly have Real Techniques brushes and then other random cheap ones from Ebay so I wanted to try some brushes that were good quality but still affordable and Morphe brushes had been on my radar for a long time. I first got the M438 Pointed Contour Brush which I'm planning to use for setting my under eyes and highlighter. Then I was in desperate need of some eyeshadow brushes so picked up the M441 Pro Firm Blending Crease Brush which I've been using to place the colour into my crease and the M505 Point Blender Brush which is great for blending everything out.

Then finally I made a little purchase at the Cosmetics Company Store, I got the MAC Eyeshadow in Kid which is the perfect brown shade for a soft crease, also I have discovered that a lot of people use this for contour and, I have to say, it contours my pale skin like a dream!
