The Products That Last All Day (Or Near Enough)

February 07, 2016
When I put makeup on my face in the morning I want something that is going to stay on all day, not things that start fading throughout the day leaving me looking completely makeup-less by the evening. The biggest problem for me is foundation, I have so many foundations that sure, look great for the first couple of hours, but then they just start to fade and look patchy. There are some products that I own that I can rely on to stay on my face all day or near enough.

A lot of my foundations don't last my 9 hour shifts at work, but there is one that I can always rely on, the L'Oreal Infallible Matte Foundation is the perfect foundation for people that want their makeup to last. Not only does it stay put it all day it actually stays matte the whole time. I don't have particularly oily skin so cannot say it will definitely stay matte for all you oily girls out there but compared to the other matte foundations I own this is by far the best. I just picked up the shade lighter as Vanilla is a little bit dark for me and I find that on me it does go a bit darker when it's set on my face so it might be worth picking up a shade lighter than you would usually go if you're interested.

I don't think I will ever stop talking about the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Exposed, it's seriously the best blush out there. Not only is it absolutely gorgeous but the formula is amazing. Blushes always fade super fast throughout the day but this, hardly does. I don't think I've ever had this blush on for 12 hours so can't say that it completely lives up to it's claim. This is my go-to blush for when I'm going out and I really want my makeup to stay put. I don't think there is anything else to say about this blush apart from that it's perfect.

For the longest time I used to use powder on my eyebrows, such a big mistake. I have naturally thick and long eyebrow hairs that are a pain to keep in place so using a powder was just not cutting it. I have been considering the Anastasia Beverly Hills DipBrow Pomade for the longest time but while browsing around Superdrug I found the Freedom Brow Pomade, which is supposed to be the same thing but for a fraction of the price, only £5! Because I have dark brows I used to always go for the darkest brow powder but I found with this I was only one of the mid brown colours, if you're interested I am in the shade 'Ash Brown'. I use this with an angled brush and it allows me to make my eyebrows look a lot more clean and crisp which was hard to achieve when using a powder. Also because of the waxy consistency of this along with some clear eye brow gel my eyebrows will be looking perfect all day and stay in place.

Finally is the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick. I feel like if you want a lip product to stay all day long you need to go for something matte otherwise it's just going to fade so quickly. I really love the Bourjois offering in the shade 'Don't pink of it' as it's the perfect pinky nude colour. Although I wouldn't say this stays all day it stays so much longer than any of my other lipsticks. I also find that it fades so nicely, doesn't feel dry on my lips and will continue to look nice after a couple of hours.
