Blushes That Give The Glow

February 21, 2016

I have very pale skin that can sometimes (who am I kidding, always) look a bit dull and lifeless so I need to use products that bring life back to my skin. The best products for this are always blushes. When I'm not using my Tarte blush in Exposed, which I really should stop talking about now, I always reach for a blush that has a bit of a shimmer in it which is going to give me a beautiful glow, here are my picks.

The one that is the perfect mixture of a highlighter and a blush is the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Adored. I feel a bit cheeky about mentioning this as it was in the Tropical Taboo collection from MAC so you can't actually buy it anywhere online, unless of course you fancy paying ridiculous amounts for it on Ebay. But I got mine from the Cosmetics Company Store which is a discount makeup shop they have in a few locations in the UK, so if you have one near you you still may be able to pick up this product as they tend to stock a lot of limited edition products from previous collections. This is such a beautiful light pink colour that is really finely milled so never looks over-the-top but gives the perfect healthy glow to the skin. I mainly use this as a blush because of the pink tones but if you have darker skin this would still be a beautiful subtle highlight, the pink doesn't show up too strongly which is why I think it's so perfect.

Next is a blush that you probably all know about if you've read one of my most recent posts, the Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso which I won't go into too much detail on as I have a whole review dedicated to this product. In short this is a luminous peach-y blush that is super flattering on the cheeks, the subtle flecks of shimmer makes it super glowy yet natural on the face. It is really pigmented and gives the perfect yet subtle pop of colour which I love.

Finally is the Sleek Blush in Rose Gold, I'm sure at this point everyone is completely obsessed with rose gold so the name of this blush is enough to make you want to buy it. This blush is super pigmented and long lasting and kind of gives the same sort of effect that the Milani blush does, a difference is the glitter in this is a bit more chunky so I feel like it doesn't give as much of a natural luminous look to your face. But despite that the colour is absolutely beautiful and looks great.
