The Makeup Bag Essentials + 2015 favourites!

January 01, 2016
Happy New Year! 2015 was a good year for me, I feel really happy with where I am right now; with uni, relationships and just life. I know that 2016 holds some really exciting, and scary, things for me. I just hope that it can be as good as last year!

Today I am bringing you my makeup bag essentials, which by coincidence includes a lot of my 2015 favourites. It was only the last couple of months of 2015 where I started finding new beauty items that I loved, I kind of didn't buy any new makeup in the beginning of the year and just stuck to the same routine pretty much every day. Even though some of these are kind of recent editions they are already up top.

An old favourite is the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed, dare I say it but I would go as far as saying this is my favourite makeup item in my whole collection. This is a pretty big statement I know but it is honestly perfect, the days when i'm not wearing this blush I wish that I was wearing it.
It's the perfect nude pink colour that goes with everything, it's pigmented, stays on the cheeks - what else could you want? Tarte is one of my favourite brands despite not having very much from them, I spend my time scrolling through Sephora and watching demo's on QVC lusting after everything. To continue with another cheek product I am loving the Freedom Pro Contour duo in Medium 02, this is a new brand to Superdrug and all the products are great. They have the kind of products you'd see from higher end brands like a brow pomade and contour sticks, but at affordable prices. Surprisingly I got the darkest shade which is wierd considering I am as pale as it gets. But I thought the contour shade was better than the others, not as orange and a more ashy tone. To finish off the cheeks is theBalm Mary Lou Manizer which is the perfect highlighter! I love a good highlight, it just gives you that glow that looks healthy without looking like a disco ball. It's not too subtle which I also like, but beware because you definitely can go overboard with this.

I didn't realise that half of the things mentioned in this post were from Maybelline, but now I come to think of it I love Maybelline. I think I've discovered they are probably one of, if not my favourite drugstore brand. From their eye products to their lip products it all gets a thumbs up from me. An old favourite is the Eraser Eye Concealer which is the pefect concealer for those with under eye circles, it's not thick and cakey but really covers up dark circles. The Brow Satin Eyebrow pencil has also made it's way into my favourites. I have it in the colour dark brown and it's a perfect match for my eyebrows. It is a normal pencil on one end which I use to fill in the ends of my brows where the hair is a lot more sparse. Then there is a sponge on the other end with powder on it which I use to fill in the start of my eyebrows. I really like this product because it has the two things you need for perfect brows, I don't like using a pencil at the start of my eyebrows as I'm not into the boxy squared off look, I prefer it to look a bit rounded - this is just great for eyebrows. My final favourite is the Maybelline Great Lash Mascara which I bought for the simple fact that it was only £4.99. I wasn't expecting to be wowed by it I just wanted a change and I need something to get 3 for 2 so I picked it up. This mascara is great for those who want length, this mascara delivers extreme length while keeping lashes nice and separated with just a bit of volume. It doesn't clump and really keeps your eyelashes looking flawless all day, I would say this is my favourite mascara ever just behind Benefit They're Real!
