The Products I Don't Like

December 28, 2015

I don't normally talk about products that I don't like, because in all honesty, it's not very often that I find a product that I don't like. I look for reviews before buying which leaves little room for error. That being said every now and again I find something that either just doesn't work for me or is just plain bad.
It makes me quite sad to mention the first product as it's from La Roche Posay which I will always say is my favourite skincare brand and I've used so many of their products and loved them all until this *sad face*. The Rosaliac Micellar Make-Up Removal Gel. This sounded so promising, I love micellar waters so thought I would love a micellar gel plus the Rosaliac line is so great for people with red skin like me. This is awful at removing makeup, there I said it. It will take off the majority of your face makeup, but mascara, nope. This is a no go for me at night when I just want all my makeup to come off quick and easy. For the morning when you just want to get off the last scraps of makeup off this would probably be okay.

Another skincare product that I haven't liked at all is the Nip+Fab Dragons Blood Cleansing Pads which I bought because of Kylie Jenner. If you follow her on Instagram you may have seen this range being featured. I chose to try the cleansing pads because I hadn't tried anything similar in the past and I absolutely hated them. I used them after using my normal cleanser and although they did make my skin feel plumper I would wake up the next morning with my cheeks being bright red and blemishes starting to appear. I cleared my skin up and tried again a couple of days later and the same thing happened, definitely did not work well with my skin at all.
The final skincare product I have not got on with is the Primark Facial Cleansing and Massage Brush which I picked up while queuing up as it was only £1 and I have been wanting a facial brush. I applied my Body Shop Camomile Oil and then used the brush and the bristles were so hard I barely used it because it felt horrible on my skin, it was so harsh and almost hurt as I used it. The massage side was not much better, again it was so stiff and hard. Even after using it for an extremely short time my face was bright red.
Now for the makeup products that I don't like. The Max Factor Miracle Match Foundation may be a bit of a controversial pick as I know a lot of people like this, unfortunately I do not. I absolutely love the Max Factor FaceFinity foundation, it's one of my favourite drugstore foundations but the miracle match just isn't as good. I have it in the shade Warm Almond which is a perfect shade for me. The way it applies and looks on the skin is really nice, it has good coverage and looks really good. But it feels horrible, it feels like it's not properly dried on the skin even after setting it with powder. I know they want it to feel like skin but it feels uncomfortable to me, even throughout the day the texture doesn't change.
The final product is the Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick which I have in the shade Preview which is a gorgeous berry shade. I got this ages ago and have only used it a couple of times. Like the foundation it's the feel of it that has made me include it in this post. It's a lovely shade and looks good on the lips, not glossy and not matte, a perfect inbetween. But it feels horrible, it feels tacky and uncomfortable which I can't get behind which is a shame as it would be such a good winter colour.
